Light straw in colour with green undertones. Zesty lemon aromas with some almond and stone fruit notes. Crisp, lively, mineral character with sharp acidity and a refreshing, lasting finish.
Vinification: The most traditional of the Gavi wines from La Scolca and considered perhaps the everyday, affordable alternative to the legendary âBlack Labelâ. Vinified from grapes from the younger vineyards located in the heart of Rovereto, known internationally as the âGran Cru of Gaviâ. The grapes are hand harvested and immediately transferred to the winery. Cryo-maceration, cold fermentation (13-14°) in stainless steel tanks and the use of natural yeasts preserves the Corteseâs subtle fruit, flinty acidity and structure.The young wine remains in tank on its lees for 4 to 5 months to extract aromatic richness and palate complexity, before natural decanting and bottling.
